“Concept
Engineering was one of the first companies in Australia
to formalise agreements with the unions, this happened
in the late 1970s.” John

We see that
a key component for the success of all projects is
the avoidance of unnecessary industrial relations issues.
Therefore Concept Engineering aims to be an employer
of choice for all our employees at all of our client
sites by practicing fair and reasonable employment
conditions.
We ensure that we comply with all contractual, award
and agreement obligations for all our employees. We
also provide regular clear communications to all our
people that keep them fully informed of relevant workplace
information. Through this dialogue we also provide
an avenue for feedback and an open forum for clients
and employees to raise any workplace concerns they
may have. Our 31 years experience has taught us that
individual employee problems are best addressed at
the individual level, and that they should be treated
as a priority before they potentially spread to become
a collective problem.
If a Concept representative foresees an issue which
has the potential to impact on a clients site they
will discuss it with the Concept State Manager who
will either promptly resolve the matter by dealing
directly with the employee or raise the matter with
the client management.
Concept has a clearly defined
dispute resolution procedure to deal with issues in
the event that they escalate. We also have employer
representation through AIG, industrial relations consultants
and a specialist law firm. Our endeavour is to resolve
an issue if it arose or to ensure that through our
dispute settlement procedure that we maintain supply
of labour with no impact on our client’s projects.
Through our employer associations
and our direct dealings with many Trade Unions we have
developed a rapport with many senior union officials.
Concept Engineering is regarded as a fair and reputable
employer by the union movement. |
